Jason W. LaPier is a multi-genre writer, delving into science fiction, speculative fiction, horror, slipstream, literary fiction, and surrealism.
- Fall, 2010: top ten finalist in the Wordstock Festival’s short fiction competition; featured in the “The Wordstock 10” anthology
- Spring, 2011: won first prize in the Write to Publish Flash Fiction Contest, presented by Portland State University’s Ooligan Press.
- Spring, 2013: received an honorable mention in Glimmer Train’s short fiction competition.
The sequel to Unexpected Rain is planned for release in 2016, and the conclusion of the trilogy is planned for 2017.
Jason is also seeking representation for his second novel, a modern-day detective speculative fiction thriller, Crossfade.
Jason is also nearing completion of a science fiction novella, Orbital Momentum.
Jason was born and raised in Upstate New York and now lives happily with his wife and a long-haired dachshund in Portland, Oregon. He loves gardening, hiking, cooking, and music. During the day, he masquerades as a mild-mannered software engineer at Elemental Technologies.
